Bending Conduit

Master Bender uses a more precise conduit bending algorithm than commonly used in the industry. Most people use the cosecant method that has been around for years. For certain angles, the cosecant method is easy to remember: Multiply by 2 for 30 degree bends and multiply by 1.41 for 45 degree bends. However, using the cosecant method for conduit angles larger than 30 degrees and conduit sizes between 1 1/4 to 6 inches will cause large errors. Even for smaller conduit sizes long neck couplers are recommended to compensate for the inaccuracy.

Our conduit bending algorithm takes the characteristics of the bender into account and thus is far more precise. Select the bender type, put in angle, distance to object and object height, and the results are given in feet, inches and fractions of inches to the nearest 1/16 inch. The whole process can take less than 7 seconds for most people.
