A scientific calculator for Windows and for the Palm Computing organizer. more>> Unc is a calculator which runs on the 3Com PalmPilot and on Microsoft Windows. Unc has a number of features not often found in other calculators:
Units. One of Uncs main features is its ability to calculate using units, like feet, miles, pounds, meters, seconds, and so on. Unc does not merely convert between units (although it certainly does conversions), but also performs calculations on numbers containing units. For example, you can multiply "55 miles per hour" by "1.5 hours" and get the result "82.5 miles". Unc already knows most of the units in common use as well as specialized units used in various fields. You can also define your own units and Unc will use them in calculations just like the built-in units.
Arithmetic. The main purpose of any calculator is to do arithmetic, and Unc has a large set of arithmetic functions. It does the usual addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, as well as powers and roots, logarithms, trigonometric and hyperbolic functions. It can handle numbers in conventional or scientific notation.
Integer arithmetic. Unc is also a full-featured programmers calculator that can operate on fixed size integers up to 128 bits in size. It can accept and display integers in decimal, hexadecimal, binary, octal, or any other base from 2 to 36. It does arithmetic, logical operations, shifts, rotates, masks and byte-swaps.<<less

Category Question buttons (1 to 6): Tap to display the trivia question for the selected row. This will take you to the Question screen. On color devices, the color of the button indicates the category type (see Quilt & Module Info in the Help menu for more information).
Category Answer boxes: Enter your answer to each question to the right of its corresponding question button, starting in the leftmost box (column 1). Each answer will be from 1 to 10 letters, with possible extra spaces on the right. You can move around the boxes using the arrow keys and other hardware buttons (see Preferences), or you can just tap on the box you want to go to.
Quilt Answer: The currently calculated quilt answer, based on your category answers and the Position and Direction popups, appears at the bottom left of the screen. The letters used in the quilt answer are highlighted with a thick border in the Answer boxes.
Position popup: The quilt answer can be composed of the 1st Letters of the category answers, the 2nd Letters, the 3rd Letters, an so forth, the Last Letters, or one of the two main diagonals touching a left corner box.<<less

The Preferences options are:
Sound - Sound can be set to Off (no sounds), Beep (beep when going to the next letter), or Music (play the Alphabet song). The Beep and Music settings both respect the Game Sound volume level set in the Preferences application.
Letter Case - The letter being displayed can be lower case or UPPER CASE.
Name Case - The name of the object being displayed can be lower case, Init Caps (first letter of each word capitalized) or UPPER CASE.
Font - The poem can be displayed in any of the given fonts.
Hardware Btns - The hardware buttons can be used to advance to the next letter instead of invoking their respective Palm applications if this option is set. Regardless of this setting, the up and down arrow buttons move to the previous and next letter respectively.<<less
