NetTools 1 is a very serviceable tool which comprises two software elements, one of which resides on the handheld device, the other on a server. The client application is a suite of network administration tools for managing Microsoft Windows networks and standard IP based LANs, Intranets or Web Server network zones. Tools include common network utilities such as Ping, Trace Route and Telnet for testing LANs, configuring routers fixing network problems, initiating routines and running applications.

Also included are advanced features such as wireless access to Microsoft Windows Services, user accounts and logs, start/stop services, processes, drivers and servers, remote DOS command execution and a graphical interface to Windows Services and user accounts. On the server side, NetTools has multi-user capability. Home Supervisor Network Edition gives you the opportunity to remotely control your household lights and appliances via your wireless LAN or choice of Ethernet TCP/IP Connection. Hardware Requirements:
CM11A Computer Interface manufactured by X10 Incorporated. The CM11A provides the communication interface between the PC (or Pocket PC) and targeted home automation modules (ie. Lamp modules, appliance modules, wall switch modules, receptacle modules etc.).
If connecting your PC server to the CM11A then just connect the serial cable, included with the CM11A, to the PC. If connecting the Pocket PC server to the CM11A then you will also need your devices serial cable with the 9 pin D shell connector on one end. Youll also have to use a DIN 9 null modem between the Pocket PCs and CM11As DIN 9 serial connections. If youre using a Serial Card adapter, the null modem may not be required however the comm port number would most likely be changed (refer to the Adapters manufacturer for the comm port number assignment).

Home Supervisor Operation:
With Home Supervisor NE, the PC or Pocket PC connected to the CM11A interface is the server and the remote device is the client. As a server you can program macros, manually control modules, view motion sensor activity and create your own module description list. As a client you can remotely control modules by sending requests to the server. The client can also start or stop macro programs residing in the server. Motion sensor/module input event logging is also available to the client.
Demo Software Summary:
