This program is for travelers. Being a plug-in to Calendar program, Time Zone changes appointment start time so that in current city it corresponds to the time of appointment in its "native" city, which will be selected by user
Main features:
- The problem of daylight saving time (DST) is solved in the program - but in part only. It changes start time of the appointment using shift between time zones (e.g., we have 6 hours shift between GMT-05.00 and GMT+01.00 time zones) and information from new check boxes. Previously program considered that current and target cities had the same DST status. Main dialog window of the program has check boxes that allow user to show separately if DST is used in the city of current location and in target city. So, responsibility for DST correction falls on user.
- When setting DLT for current and target cities user should take into account that difference between DLT for source city (1 if set) and DLT for target city (1 if set) is used in correction of start time of the appointment. So, if both source and target cities have the same DLT user could leave both check boxes unchecked (or checked).

- DST settings selected by user for the check boxes are stored in the registry.

- Clarified the program behaviour for time change of previously processed appointment.

- Let the program is used for the same target city that is already mentioned in TimeZone notes for Location property of appointment. Then the program consider that user have selected new time for the same target city and modifies the time in Calendar for current city accordingly.
- Let user executes the program for the other target city than the one mentioned in notes for Location. Then program will use the time mentioned in TimeZone notes as the base.
- If you would like to set new appointment time for new target city then when editing the appointment time you should delete TimeZone note from Location property of the appointment. TimeZone will create new note for your new target city.
- Bug fixed: when DST is used, time correction for all-day events was made as for standard time, i.e. by 1 hour less than it should be.
- Bug fixed: despite the message \"Invalid timezone information for current city. Correction will be cancelled.\" invalid appointment time correction was made.

TZones is a simple but elegant world clock application for PalmOS.
TZones is free software licenced under the GNU General Public Licence.
TZones is very intuitive to use and configure but just in case you have problems try the following steps.
Install and run the application.
The first time the application runs it will display its Preferences dialog, use the Local Time: option to select a city in your time zone and check or uncheck the Daylight Saving checkbox as appropriate.
Press OK to leave the preferences dialog.
You can change which four cities to display the time in by selecting Time Zones... from the Options menu.
Finally if you are getting confused to read the tips (click on the icon
in the top right hand corner of some windows).

Enhancements:

The astrolib library calculates planetary positions and timezones.
Positions of sun, moon and planets up to Pluto are calculated with an accuracy of the order of one arc minute for dates less than a century away from now. Calculations are based on approximation formulae by Paul Schlyter, which are in turn based on a preprint of a paper by T. van Flandern and K. Pulkkinen "Low precision formulae for planetary positions", Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series, 1980.

Information is retrieved about locations and time zones on earth, based on UNIX time zone data. The data contains information for over 350 locations world-wide and is even useful for dates centuries before UNIX machines existed. The same information is provided for about 2000 additional locations which have been assigned to UNIX time zone locations.

Currently, astrolib is implemented as a shared library for Palm OS 2.0 or later. It requires the MathLib library. Because the time zone data has been compressed quite a bit and the calculations do not require any external ephemeris data files, the library is only about 100K.

The astrolib source code is distributed under the GNU Lesser General Public License. As I understand the license, this means essentially that you can use astrolib from commercial and non-commercial software, but that you cannot make a commercial product out of a modified version of astrolib. Redistribution under the GNU LGPL is, of course, possible.
