Lightswitch is a software control for switching the backlight off and on.
This is faster and easier than holding down the power button.
For PDAs not fitted with a backlight, it lets you adjust the brightness.

GuideDesFromagesDeFrance is a Flash animation which will remind everyone that France is the land of cheese. Organised by region and by type of milk use (you can do searches), you can discover what makes the French gastronomy so good.

The navigation is not very fast, but the animation in itself is not to blame, the culprit is without a doubt PIE. A little wine guide accompanies the app, so everyone will soon pull out their Pocket PC at the end of a meal.

Users with a GPS device can use Navizon worldwide. And Navizon will allow you to get a GPS fix where you couldnt before (indoors, urban canyons etc...) by automatically switching to WiFi or Cellular positioning when GPS signals are lost.

Auto-launch of different tasks on your smartphone is very useful feature. It allows automating your repetitive and routine tasks in the most natural way. Unfortunately, standard Windows Mobile OS does not have such functionality.
CT Scheduler adds a new functionality of automatic launching programs, documents, media and other files in accordance to your time plan. Tasks can be scheduled to launch based on definite time, dates and days of the week. It is very convenient, because the workday schedule and weekend and holiday schedule can differ. The program has an ability to activate and deactivate scheduled items. There is no need to delete and create them again.
Below are some examples of CT Scheduler usage:
Sound Alert. Select desired audio-file to run in Program / File field and then set the necessary time parameters. You can also select any specific media-player in Program / File field and desired audio-file in Parameters field.
Switching Profiles. Select /Windows/autoprof.exe in the Program / File field. Then enter -s ProfileName in the Parameters field. ProfileName must be English name of the desired profile, for example Meeting.
Downloading web-page. Select /Windows/iexplore.exe in the Program / File field. Then enter the desired URL in the Parameters field.

wthrcalc has four different weather related calculations.
Wind chill - relative humidity - F to C, C to F - and heat index.
The Wind chill has both the old formula (named aeronautical since it was told to me that it was more for wing icing and such on air planes so it is based on 9 meters up), and the new formula (named civil for feet planted on ground).
There is supposed to be a new revision yet, which might become civil 2.
The heat index takes its values from the Drybulb and Relative Humidity fields, insert input there.
If values are entered outside of normal ranges the results are unpredictable (no crashes, just unrealistic results) - wind speed below 4 mph is locked to 4 (anything less has no apparent effect).
wthrcalc was created to fulfill a need for anything weather for my son, Kenneth M, and to have a small footprint on my already overstuffed IIIe special edition.

The Golf Handicap Calculator is a simple but accurate application that will calculate your handicap index using the USGA formula - IF - you treat it right. It is not official or sanctioned by the USGA or anybody else, but if you need a handy way to keep track of your handicap, it works just fine. Be sure to read the GHC Instructions file carefully before using the calculator. They are more complicated than actually using the calculator, but they will tell you what you need to know. The app is pretty intuitive until you have more than twenty rounds of golf to consider. Then you have to think a little to keep the thing accurate. But that is all explained in the instructions. Obviously there are no guarantees or warranties associated with this application. Youre on your own. Keep it in the short grass and enjoy.
