Meter Minder for Smartphone 2003 helps you avoid costly parking tickets.

After depositing coins in the real parking meter, enter the time showing on the meter using the Smartphones numeric keypad, followed by the Action button or Menu/Start. The time value is in hh:mm (hours and minutes) format.

After starting, Meter Minder will count down the time entered, displaying hours and minutes remaining. The colon flashes on and off while timing is in progress. The phone must remain powered on for the application to continue running.

At 5 to 30 minutes before expiration, selectable from Menu/Warning, warning beeps will sound for a minute or until the Action button is pressed.

After expiration, the alarm will sound until you press the Action button or select Menu/Reset. The time since expiration will be displayed as hours, minutes, seconds.

If you feed the meter before it expires, select Menu/Reset, then enter the new time showing on the meter followed by the Action button, as described above.

While entering time, use the Left Direction Arrow to backspace incorrect digits.

Menu/Reset stops any timing in progress and sets the meter value to 00:00.

Running other applications or the operating system may change the display. Use the phones Back button, or select Meter Minders icon on the Home screen, to navigate back to Meter Minder.

To test the audiblity of the alarms, select Menu/Warning/None, followed by Menu/Start. The expiration alarm will sound until you press the Action button.

INSTALLATION

Use ActiveSync to copy the downloaded file to the StoragewindowsStart Menu directory of your Smartphone 2003 device. Next, you must run the cab file on the device to complete the installation.

On your device, select "Start" from the Home Screen. Locate the .cab file named "MeterMinder ... " from the Start menu. Select it with the Action button to install the application. Note: If the cab file does not immediately appear on the Start menu, navigate back to Home and then through Start/More until the file appears on the menu. It helps to navigate to a folder, such as Accessories, then back to Home, to coax the Start menu to refresh.

After installation, select the Meter Minder icon to run the application. The cab file will be removed after installation and it will eventually drop off the Start menu.
