Delta Minaret 3

Delta Minaret 3

It acts like a mosque in your pocket. Wherever you go, Salah times are a simp more>> Delta Minaret Details
Delta Minaret performs 4 main functions
1- Salah times Calculation Delta Minaret user can choose from a database of nearly 500 locations. If he can??t find the location he wants, he can add his own location to the database. Delta Minaret will then calculate the Salah times for that chosen location. The default location used is the home city in the system??s settings. There is a partial Adhan file and Salah reminders to remind the user of his daily Salah. Minaret can also generate outlook reminders for any of the five Salah for any period of time day, week or month. The user will also be able to choose the method for calculating Asr time following either the Hanafi School or the Shafi School
Hanafi School:
Asr time is when length of shadow = 2 * length of object + noon shadow
Shafi School:
Asr time is when length of shadow = length of object + noon shadow
The application also allows the user to choose the twilight angles for Fajr/Isha calculation. Fajr starts with the morning twilight (dawn) while Isha starts at the end of the evening twilight (dusk). There has been a debate on which twilight angle values should be used to calculate Fajr and Isha times taking into consideration that smaller twilight angles produce later Fajr and earlier Isha. Delta Minaret allows the user to choose among the five conventions currently used by Islamic organizations in various countries and offers the flexibility for the user to add his own angles.
2- Gregorian / Hijri Conversion Delta Minaret also attempts to calculate the Hijri Date corresponding to a given Gregorian date and vice versa. However, since calculations are not based on actual moon sighting, there may be a +/-1 day discrepancy. In addition, Delta Minaret User doesn??t have to worry about daylight saving adjustment since it is taken into consideration when calculating Salah times. It also saves the user settings so that he doesn??t have to repeat them over and ove

Divination 2.0.4

Divination 2.0.4

A palm application to calculate your calrvoyance powers. more>>
I noticed that there are many clairvoyants but few tools to test their ability.
The utility is simple. The palm shuffles a pack of 52 cards, cuts the cards into a number of piles (2 piles in level 1, increasing to 6 piles in level 5).
For each attempt, a card is turned over and a question is asked: find a card greater then, smaller then or equal to the card that was turned over.
You choose the pile where you think (or know if you are a good clairvoyant) where the correct card is.
As play continues, the palm calculates your divining ability. The play finishes when all the piles are empty.
Enhancements:
- Added a new variant of game : you have to find the identical as the card turned over. The game is shuffled eaach turn.

You supply the attempts, completions, TDs, and Ints and this will give you the qb rating as calculated by the NFL. more>>
You supply the attempts, completions, TDs, and Ints and this will give you the qb rating as calculated by the NFL (NCAA is somewhat different). Recalculating while in Form view enables you to see how a slight change in one catagory can effect the total. The form view shows Cmp%, Yds/att, td%,int%, as well as the broken down point value given to each catagory.I have included the top 70 passers with a least 2900 attempts but the players that are active(only ten or so)are only updated as of the 2002-2003 season. They can be sorted easily enough and updated.

Aviation Flashcards 1.0

Aviation Flashcards 1.0

Learn for the FAA test for Private Pilot more>>
Aviation Flashcards is a set of SuperMemo databases by Mark Phillips created to study material covered in the FAA Airmen Knowledge Test for Private Pilot - Airplane.

The databases are:
Aviation Airspace - 50 cards covering airspace regulations.
Aviation Info 1 - 50 cards covering a range of topics, including airspeeds, compass errors, transponder codes, and light gun signals.
Aviation Info 2 - 50 cards covering a range of topics, including altitudes, altimeters, and right-of-way rules.

Feel free to modify and share the databases. Substitute Va, Vy, etc. with the appropriate airspeeds of the aircraft you fly. This is not a comprehensive review. Limited time and space forced the author to omit many important topics and many important details. The author is sure errors and inaccuracies remain despite his attempts to get the information correct. When in doubt, check the current FARs and other references before you decide an answer in this set is correct.
To view this database on your device you need the SuperMemo application (see the link in Requirements above). It will allow you to learn the cards up to 10-50 times faster and ensure that you never forget them again.

Single Button Launcher 0.2

Single Button Launcher 0.2

Single Button Launcher is a PalmOS application that can launch up to 5 different applications using only a single hardware button. more>>
Single Button Launcher is a PalmOS application that can launch up to 5 different applications using only a single hardware button. Pressing this button and immediately releasing it launches the first application. Holding the button down for a few moments cycles through the other applications; release the button when you reach the one you want. It is probably most suitable for those applications that you need to refer to quickly without using the stylus (clocks, tide calculators, compasses, etc.). It is not a Hack, nor does it patch the !PalmOS in any other way, its just another application.
To use, go to Buttons in Preferences and assign SBL to one of the application buttons, for example, the Memopad button. Press this button. When the SBL screen appears, assign Memopad to the first button, then any other applications of your choice to the remaining buttons.
Now if the Memopad button is pressed in the normal way, SBL will immediately start Memopad. Other applications can be started by holding the button down; simple as that. I told you it only used a single button. Unassigned slots are ignored and skipped.
SBLs overriding design principle is speed; for this reason it does not read the application icons, and does not verify the existence of the applications it is launching until actual launch time. If an application turns out not to exist when launch is attempted, SBL returns to configuration mode. It has no built-in help, "About" screen, or menu options. This ensures that it starts and gets out of the way as quickly as possible, and should not crash when applications are no longer available (unlike some launchers we could mention). It also uses only 6K of memory.

Caltrain+ Caltrain Schedule 3.9.3

Caltrain+ Caltrain Schedule 3.9.3

The Caltrain Schedule for PalmOS more>>
Caltrain+ has the following features:
- Schedules for weekday, non-weekend holiday, and weekend service.
- Tapping on a train number brings up fare, zone, and travel time, and distance information (a subsequent Copy command will copy this text to the clipboard).
- Tapping on departure or arrival column brings up station information (a subsequent Copy command will copy this text to the clipboard). It also allows alarms to be set or cleared.
- Tapping on direction highlight toggles direction (saves one tap).
- Highlighting (color or bold) alternating fare zones in station list popups.
- A Preference Form, to enable or disable the following capabilities:
o Displaying todays schedule automatically (including Holidays) at startup
o AM/PM or 24-hour time format
o Ability to keep station popups centered on last choice (PalmOS 4.0 or greater only)
o Default minutes before triggering an alarm (see below for a more complete description of alarms)
- An Alarms Form, to show which alarms are currently set. Alarms are described in detail below.
- Pannable Color higher-resolution System Route Map (requires PalmOS 3.5 or greater)
- A Menu Item for switching to the BART Quick Planner (if it is installed).
- Support for 5-way navigator button (found on certain PalmOne models).
Alarm Information
Starting with Version 3.4, Caltrain+ has the ability to trigger alarms a specified number of minutes before a train departs or arrives. This is a complex feature that bears further explanation (though the goal is to make usage as intuitive as possible). Here are the details:
- Alarms are recurring (e.g. for commuters who ride the train on a regular basis). For non-recurring alarms there is already the Datebook, and this should be used.
- To set an alarm, start by tapping a time in either the departure or arrival column of a particular train. This brings up the detail popup window, which contains the alarm set/clear button. The button label toggles depending on whether the alarm is set or cleared.
- Next select the number of minutes before the train arrives/departs that you wish to be notified, using the popup to the right of the alarm set/clear button. Currently 5-60 minutes in increments of 5 minutes is supported. The default number of minutes may be specified in the preferences panel.
- Once an alarm is set, the popup is locked and displays the number of minutes selected as the advance notification interval. Clearing the alarm will unlock the popup.
- An alarm will be triggered the specified number of minutes before every train matching the schedule class. I.e., if an alarm is set for a M-F train, it will be triggered every weekday until cleared.
- There is logic for detecting holidays, and an alarm that would otherwise trigger will be skipped on a holiday (e.g. a M-F alarm will not trigger on Labor Day). The holidays recognized are limited to Xmas, Presidentss Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving.
- A train for which an alarm is set is highlighted in red/bold in the display.
- A maximum of 4 alarms may be set concurrently.
- The Alarms Form can be used to 1) see which alarms are set; 2) cancel individual alarms; 3) cancel all alarms.
- This feature works best with the Attention Manager (PalmOS 4.0 or greater). Earlier versions of Palm will work but the notification menu is crude and there is no snoozing or nagging.
- You can only set alarms for a holiday on the day of the holiday, and those alarms will be one-shots (non-repeating). Otherwise there are no restrictions (e.g. you can set a M-F alarm on a Saturday.
Troubleshooting & Known Problems
- "Blank display" (Grid shown but no text): this has been reported on the Treo 600 and 650 models. The cause has not been isolated: it seems to affect only a small number of units, and seems related to firmware (upgrading to a new firmware version has been known to both cause and solve this problem. No known workaround
- Resets after installing Caltrain Application. This is occasionally seen on all models, though again the Treos seem the most susceptible. Here are several things to try (ordered in increasing order of severity) that have been known to work on occasion:
1. explicitly delete Caltrain app from your handheld, and try to re-install
2. extract .prc file from the .zip archive instead of downloading directly (some browsers known to have a hard time handling .prc binaries)
3. Clean out your Hotsync directories. This from a user: "I found the last two versions of the Caltrain application that I was trying to update inside the "Install" folder which was inside my User Folder. For some reason, that application remained in that folder even after I deleted it from the handheld and from the Quick Install application. After I deleted the .prc files from the "Install" folder and rebooted the machine, everything worked normally. I used the Quick Install application and successfully installed the new program that I originally wanted to install"
4. Search your system and delete all instances of the Caltrain .prc files. Then delete Caltrain app from your handheld. Finally download a fresh .zip, extract the .prc, and try to install that.
5. Try using the free dbScan utility on your handheld.
6. Try (soft) resetting your handheld before attempting steps 1-5.
Enhancements:
- Updated to reflect the April 2, 2007 schedule and fares.
- New Features:
- "T" mode for displaying Redwood City Transfers. You select this by toggling the "T", "L", "A" popup thats immediately below the "Caltrain Schedule" header in the upper left hand corner of the main display. In "T" mode, routes requiring a RWC transfer will be displayed in bold green in the Train column. Tapping on Train or Origin columns will give the number of the train you are to transfer to; tapping on the Destination column will give information for the transfer train, including departure time.
- Trains form for displaying all the stops for a train rather than the converse. You can enter this form by either 1) tapping the Trains View button shown in the Schedule Detail form; or 2) selecting Trains in the Commands menu. If you navigate via the Trains View button the schedule for the corresponding will be shown. While in the Trains View, the 5-way navigator will behave the same way as in the main view.
- New abbreviated Help form.
- Bugfixes:
- Corrected a problem where alarms would cause the wrong train (or no train at all) to be bolded.

Palm Tungsten T Update has come as a handy and essential software patch which is particularly useful for the Palm Tungsten T handheld. It resolves several issues. This patch is intended for the Palm Tungsten T and is not meant for use with any other handhelds. This patch incorporates and replaces the following previously released patches for Palm Tungsten T: PalmDigitizerUpdate.prc and PalmAudioUpdate.prc.

Major Features:

  2. Audio playback issues, associated with playing audio files (such as MP3 or WAV), which affect sound output quality. Enhancements to the Palm Sound Manager included with this update also enable the playback of audio files in the background with some applications.
  3. Issues connecting to the Internet or email via a Bluetooth dongle attached to a PC.
  4. Launcher issues when attempting to access the App menu. The error message "LauncherMain.c, Line:9128, could not complete the operation because the system is out of dynamic memory" is reported on devices with more than 345 files in system memory.

AstroView 1.76

AstroView 1.76

AstroViewPalm is the program you use to view a shared computer from a Palm Powered device. more>>
AstroViewPalm is the program you use to view a shared computer from a Palm Powered device. Once downloaded unzip or unstuff and then install it onto your handheld via hotsync. After running it you will have access to a menu named "View" with menuitems "View Desktop...", "Diconnect From Share...", "Connection Options...", and "Network Statistics...". Statistics shows you the amount of used memory, how much data has been sent and read on the current connection and average connection speeds. Options lets you set some security features and a slow connection option. Disconnect breaks down the current connection. View brings up a dialog which allows you to view and control a shared desktop supplying the IP or DNS address, port number, computer name and password.
AstroViewPalm also allows you to save whatever is currently in the viewer as a picture whether you are connected to a remote desktop or not. This ability is found under the "Image" menu. You can view a desktop or a saved image in 3 levels of Zoom: Normal (1X), Zoom Double (2X) and Zoom Quadruple (4X). This ability is found under the "Zoom" menu. You can also push the up and down page buttons on the front of your device to zoom in and out respectively. Viewing in Double and Quadruple modes decreases bandwith significantly.
Most likely you will be viewing a remote desktop that is larger than the display on your Palm OS device. Currently AstroViewPalm has 3 ways to view different parts of that larger desktop. You do this by "scrolling".
We offer 3 scroll modes: Grab, Scale and Mouse.
Grab Scroll works by moving to another part of the remote desktop in response to you pushing the stylus. While you move the stylus the same point on the desktop stays under it. Its sort of like putting your index finger on a piece of paper thats on a smooth desk. As you move your finger around the paper moves too but not relative to your finger.
Scale Scroll works by showing you that part of the desktop relative to where your stylus is on the palm screen. So if you tap the top left corner of the palm screen you will see the top left corner of the remote desktop. Tap the middle of the screen and you see the middle of the remote desktop. Hold the stylus down while moving it and you will see everything in between.
Mouse Scroll works by imitating the mouse on the remote desktop. When you touch the stylus to the palm screen it causes the mouse button to be down on the remote desktop. As you move the stylus in mouse scroll mode so does the mouse move on the remote desktop. If you move the stylus within about 1/4 inch of your Palms screen border then the part of the remote desktop your viewing will shift so that you can see more of the desktop in the direction that you are moving the stylus.
You can switch between the different scroll modes via the "Stylus" menu. You can also switch into Mouse Scroll by hitting the leftmost hard button on the front of your palm also known as the DateBook button. Hitting it again will switch you back into the previous scroll mode either Grab or Scale. All 3 scroll modes work in real time as does zooming so you can zoom in and out at the same time you are using any of the scroll modes.
You can copy whatever text is currently selected on the shared machine to your handhelds clipboard. Do this by choosing "Copy From Remote..." under the "View" menu. You can also paste whatever text is currently on your handhelds clipboard to the text insertion point of the shared computer. Do this by choosing "Paste To Remote..." under the "View" menu. For both copying and pasting a maximum of 5000 characters are moved with one operation.
Enhancements:
- Added chat rooms to AstroShare and AstroView. This is found under the "Login" menu as "Show Chat Rooms...". You can create a new chat room and enter one from this dialog. The rooms are listed along with the number of users in each room. You can only enter one chat room at a time. When entering a chat room you leave the previous one. Currently chat rooms do not work with AstroView for Palm OS.
- In AstroShare we fixed a timing issue when using the Request/Invite feature from the FriendsList. Previously you would often have to request or invite twice because the first attempt would give AstroShare enough time to set itself up with AstroCity and the second attempt would have the connection go through. This has been fixed now.
- For AstroView for Palm OS we now properly show whos FriendsList you are viewing when choosing to show it via the Login Menu. This is displayed in the dialogs title.
