The Project Managment Pack (PMP) is a series of 9 HanDBase (v2.1) databases that can be used separately or together to manage consulting, sales, or project management services. The PMP is an extremely versatile supplement to HanDBase and can be used by numerous types of business professionals such as sales people, project managers, traveling consultants, and individuals who supervise and manage large work teams. Each database is configured to be able to read the most important information in the list view using the To-Do and Address Book buttons to scroll.
The PMP allows the business professional to:
1) record general information about the clients or projects with which they work,
2) track client and co-worker contact information (phone, fax, etc.),
3) record visits to client sites or in-house meetings,
4) log billable hours and related information,
5) track deliverables to be provided to or received from the client or other co-workers,
6) track tasks to be completed for each project (including to whom the tasks are assigned, and
7) log communication contacts (phone calls, faxes, e-mails, etc).
The PMP is a powerful management tool for the traveling businessperson because it taps into existing records of other databases to complete entries, which makes data entry quick, easy, and complete. This allows the user to associate tasks with specific individuals and companies, and associate certain deliverables with their respective companies. Each database has been designed to work as a standalone database or in conjunction with one or more of the other PMP databases. For those who work in a primarily in-house setting, the pack can be easily modified to serve intra-company work teams and projects. The PMP can be used by consultants, salespeople, project managers, supervisors, team-leaders, work group members, or anyone who manages multiple projects in an in-house or mobile environment. The PMP can be set up to work with a single client, multiple clients, one or more projects, or it can be used to track multiple in-house projects. A description of each database, its function, the field structure, and suggested uses are included in accompanying document. Sample data is include as examples.
You can use the filter feature to display current tasks (versus completed tasks, events not yet billed, deliverables not yet completed, and an array of other filters. Special fields have been added to make filtering easy.
Sorting can be done by client/company name or by project in every database. This allows you to view due dates for each project task and deliverable in list view quickly and easily. There are other options for sorting which make the databases very useful. For instance you can sort unfinished tasks by company or individual assigned to the task.
You can create quick reports that display totals for billable hours and also export a log of activities that have been billed. An easy and excellent way to send reports to clients. You can also filter and sort records to report on complete and incomplete deliverables and tasks.

Simple database for tracking assignments for any project. The applet is much better than the TO-DO list, because it allows you to track your own work as well as the work of others. I use this applet to keep track of what Ive been assigned and what I need to do to complete each assignment. This applet is also useful for project managers that need to track all the assignments that are open in their team/group. It helps you keep a detailed record of all the work that needs to be completed for any project. This applet has three databases, they are included in the zip file. The Assignments table tracks the assignment, who is working on it, due date, priority, description and catagory. The second table Assignment Tasks is a linked table that can be used to track all the tasks associated to the assignment. The tasks table tracks what the task is, priority, due date, description, and notes. The third table Assignment Journal allows you to keep a detailed log/journal for each assignment. This is very useful for tracking issues, recommendations, changes, or notes for each assignment.

ProjectCompanion is a project support suite for operative planning, execution and control of multiple projects in dynamic environments.

It is particularly well suited for project-intensive organizations. The application provides support for time- and expense reporting, shared action management, project plans and reports, diaries, contacts, files, project handbooks, templates etc.

The application consists of a web tool, a management console, a Palm OS application and a report tool. The Freeware is limited to three projects active at the same time.

This is a first pass at a Contact/Time/Expense and Problem management database. I think it pretty much works, but use it at your own risk. Email me if you see any problems. The way it works is simple, you have a main database call Customers where you can enter general information (phone, e-mail etc.) about you customer set. From this database there are 3 linked databases, Time management, for tracking how much time you spend working with a customer whether this is on site or not. When you create a new entry it starts to track the time but you must manually set the end time. Also it only works on a daily basis so you must create a new record for each day worked. Expense management, for tracking expenses related to this customer and whether they should be billed to the customer. You can also enter these expenses in the local currency and then use the Exchange Rates database to translate it back to your local currency. This database also calculates VAT. And finally mileage allowances, which is a little "hockey" as I use an entry in the Exchange Rates database call mileage to do this. Therefore the way I work out mileage rates is odd. I take the rate say 10.4 per mile and to make it work, divide 1 by it. So to get the mileage rate you would divide 1 by 10.4 giving 9.6154. Problem management, for tracking problems your working on for the customer, date opened, updated and closed with room for a problem number, short description and details Then I have added a MS Access database that takes the CSV produced from HDDOS32.EXE and creates an Expense, Time Worked and Problems report. Or you can do this through the usual method in HandBase Ive supplied some example data.
