Pocket GNU Go 2.6.5
Go , also known as Weiqi , is an ancient board game originated in China more than 4,000 years ago. Today Go is played by millions of people around the globe more>>
Beyond being merely a game, Go is an analogy with life, an intense meditation, a mirror of ones personality, and a beautiful art form. Like the Eastern martial arts, Go can teach concentration, balance, and discipline.
Pocket GNU Go was initiallly created by Ivan Davtchev from Harvard University based on GNU Go 1.2, developed by Man Li and others. Later Alex Seewald from the Austrian AI Research Institute upgraded it to a more advanced AI, using GNU Go 2.6. Ivan Davtchev added multithread capabilities and upgraded it to GNU Go 2.6.2. To further separate the backend GNU Go engine and front end user interface development, Sidney Liu from Vieka joined Pocket GNU Go project and also looked over the maintainence, support and promotion responsibilities.
The plan for front end is to include SGF viewer, editor, and recorder functionalities, or maybe a better graphics. And the objective for backend is to port GNU Go 3.2 engine to Pocket PC, enable GTP protocol communication in Pocket PC, and if possible, separate out the pattern database so the whole GNU Go engine is less resource hungry, more flexible and extensible. Adding multiplayer capabilities is also relatively easier.
If you are interested in participating in this project, or have any questions or suggestions, please contact gnugo@vieka.com. Many thanks go to Vieka for their kind support.
Enhancements:
- Pocket PC version now supports variety of screen resolutions, including the default QVGA (240X320), landscape QVGA (320X240), Palm Treo square screen (240X240), real VGA (480X640) and real VGA landscape (640X480). Pretty much all known Pocket PC devices in the market now should be supported.
System requirements:
- Windows Mobile PocketPC.

How much longer? 1.0

Supports both kilometers and miles. Please e-mail me your ideas for future upgrades.
PSpringies 1.0
PSpringies is a spring and mass simulation, though you may wish to forget the physics and just play with it like a toy. more>>
You can easily build a world of nodes connected by springs and then watch what happens when you give a pull here and a nudge there.
The program is limited only by your imagination and the fact that this is a PDA which stores your phone numbers, not your desktop machine!
The program has a few built in patterns that you can watch fly around the screen, ricochet off walls, and drag around as you wish.
Using the graphical editor, however, you will probably want to design and play with your own patterns pretty quickly.
Experiment with the interface or read the included help file which is also available at http://www.medcosm.com/pspringies.html.

Pocket Atari 1.2.2
Pocket Atari is a 8-bit Atari emulator for Pocket PCs more>>
This emulator is a port of open source Atari800 emulator. There are other ports to other platforms - DOS, Windows, Linux, etc. What makes this one special is that you can play with it anywhere you want. Pocket PCs are truly portable devices. They are also quite powerful. You should be able to play most games with sound without any problems.
In addition to a few 8-bit computers (800, 800XL, 130XE) this emulator also includes preliminary support for the Atari 5200 console. I never had one of these but I am pretty sure that some of you will enjoy reviving old memories.

Todo2RFT 1.0
Todo2RFT lends you the ability to read your todo database on your desktop and convert it to RTF or text format for printing. more>>
Todo2RFT 1.0 lends you the ability to read your todo database on your desktop and convert it to RTF or text format for printing. The program is a Windows program, but I have included the source code so you can probably convert it to work with other operating systems.
The program reads the Todo database that is created when you hot sync your PalmPilot to the desktop, so make sure and sync before running this to print the latest version. Why do this you ask? The publisher did not like the format that the todo's were printed out from the Palm DeskTop, so with this program you can pretty much format them however you want in MSWord or any other text editor. This program runs in a DOS window on Win95, Win98, and Win/NT.

RandyMoney for HanDBase 1.0
Combination of Shopping, Purchasing and Financial Database. more>>
It comes in 4 Pieces: **1.**use RandyShopper to shop for everything **2.**use RandyGifts to keep track of GIFTS to buy, and link to RandyShopper for more detail **3.**link to RandyMerchant to keep the important info on merchants to reduce redundancy and keep preserve merchant information **4.**Easily "Copy to" RandyKeeper important records from RandyShopper.(such as those with passwords and serial numbers)
All in RandyMoney2000 should help you keep track of Finances, Giftlists, what you want to buy, compare shop, keep track of BUSINESS EXPENSES vs. personal expenses, STORE PURCHASE INFORMATION on things like subscriptions, ACCOUNTS, and ... Lawnmowers by filling in fields like password, model# and serial number. Keep information on the merchants you shop often at the tip of your fingers. Itd take a long time to describe how to do all of the following operations just because there are so many, but I think youll find it pretty intuitive to use.
Example data has been provided to help you save time evaluating the database, but dont hold me to fake phone numbers, prices, etc. Take advantage of the popup lists and common phrases already stored. I should mention that the CATEGORY field has been setup as a note so that it could be a field containing multiple entries. For example A gift is a gift, but that gift could also be for business, so by putting both in both GIFT and BUSINESS, you will have better filtering functionality. (other examples BUSINESS + TRAVEL, or ENTERTAINMENT + GIFT, (Or Meal but not Grocery) Finally Although the alldatabases have been designed to work best together, each has also been designed to function well independently. I welcome any feedback you have for the databases.

StarTap for Palm 4.92
A more Windows 95 look and feel to the Palm PC more>> Create a shortcut for, say, Calendar (with an icon with a name beneath it, just like youre familiar with), create a folder (like "Tools"), then drag the shortcut into the folder. Now, tap on the folder. It opens, showing the Calendar shortcut you just dropped into it. Tap on the shortcut, and the Calendar program runs.
Now, go back to StarTap (select it from the Start Menu again). Open the "special" folder, Tasks. There youll find all the programs that are currently running on your machine, including the Calendar program we just launched, displayed like shortcuts (with icons and names). Tap on one to switch to it, or tap on Delete and then the icon to shut it down.
All pretty ordinary stuff, for a desktop, but its revolutionary for a palmtop! AND its all "finger friendly." You can start, stop, and switch among programs without ever pulling out the stylus. All the shortcuts and buttons are easy to hit reliably with a finger tip (this doesnt apply to the toolbar thats used for the setup and maintenance of StarTap, but for regular use its slick!).
As a matter of fact, if you assign a button to "StarTasks", you can bring up StarTap with the Tasks folder already open. One button press to see the tasks, then tap on the one you want to switch to and youre there. Two presses and you didnt have to use the stylus! Of course, if you do have the stylus in your hand, you can use the StarTap icon down in the Taskbar. Switch among tasks, shut em down, or bring up the main StarTap screen with just a couple of taps<<less
PieFight 1.1.1
PieFight! is an action game where the objective is to throw pies at the targets in the open windows. You can only hit the targets when the windows are fully open. more>>
If you hit, a splat animation will be displayed. If you miss, either the pie will hit the closed window and run down, or will hit the back wall, and the target will taunt you for your poor aim. During this taunting, the target cannot be hit, but you can still throw pies at them anyway.
The 5 rectangles in the bottom left corner represent the number of pies available to be thrown. If all the rectangles are empty, then you have no more pies, and must wait until your pie supply is replenished.
The two numbers at the bottom of the screen represent the number of targets hit (centre), and the number of targets left to appear (right).
The objective is to hit as many targets as possible, and at the end of each level the results of your achievements are displayed.
If you hit the number of targets that is required, then a Next button is displayed, and the game gets harder with more simultaneous targets, and slower pie replenishment.
If you dont reach the target, then only an Exit button is displayed, and the game must be restarted.
