PlaylistMgr is a simple playlist editor for managing Windows Media Player playlists. You can create or edit playlists easily and conveniently using this software. Unicode filenames and playlists are supported too.
Usage Notes
You can add a media stream by entering the URL in "Add URL" dialog.
In the podcast management dialog, you need to define the folder where the all the media files for the podcasts are kept.
You can double click on a media file in the list to play it.
Alternatively, you can click on "Play All" to play the playlist for the podcasts.
The playlist for the podcasts is automatically updated every time the podcast management dialog is launched.
Alternatively, you can use "Create Shortcut" to create a shortcut for launching PlaylistMgr silently, updated the playlist for podcast and load it in the media player automatically.
Other Notes
If your Regional Setting is set to unicode language (e.g. Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc), you may experience problems loading playlists for editing in the program. Please switch your Regional Setting to English for a temporary fix.
Enhancements:
- Added support for M3U/PLS playlists.
- Switching between softkey and toolbar modes without restart.

Windows Media Player 10 was a nice improvement so that users could play purchased music on their PocketPCs, but WMP10 itself lacks some features.
Perhaps the most annoying of these (aside from the button mapping problems) is the inability to create and save playlists on the device.
Playlist Editor was designed to import your files into a playlist format that WMP10 can play: ASX. Version 1.2 adds the ability to load and save M3U and PLS playlists as well.
How to use:
1. To Add Individual Songs:
Click the "+" Button in the toolbar
Click "Browse" to find the song, and Click "OK"
The program will guess at a good title, if you want it different, change it in the Title textbox. (ID3 support coming soon)
Click "Ok"
The song will now show up in the list box at the bottom.
2. How to Add an Entire Directory:
Go to Edit > Import... menu
Browse to the directory you want by double clicking a directory
Check the "Recurse Subdirectories" checkbox if you want to include songs from all folders under this one as well
Click the "OK" button
NOTE: Import includes ALL files, not just music ones, Ill work on that.

Enhancements:
- Added a shuffle command to randomize the order of a playlist
- Added a "play" button to launch the current playlist in the default program. Note this does not save the playlist first.
- Discovered the ASX loader does not like ampersands in the file. I will investigate a fix. For now, save an M3U or PLS version to reload.

Windows Media Player for Smartphones doesnt have a built-in feature of creating playlists. One option is to create a playlist by means of some available utilities using the PC. But, wouldnt it be cool to be able to create your playlists directly on your Smartphones? :-)
