fMSX Series 60 1.07a
MSX emulator for S60. With this emulator you can play hundreds of games available on the Internet for the MSX platform. more>>
Although recent versions of the emulation core still resemble the fMSX/Unix logically almost no part of the original fMSX/Unix code is left in fMSX/S60. I have decided to keep the emulator name as fMSX still to honour the roots of the emulation code and the efforts of the fMSX/Unix author. Critical sections in fMSX/S60 have been written directly in ARM assembly language to gain speed.
Main features:
- Emulates MSX1, MSX2 and MSX2+ machines.
- AY8910 (PSG), SCC, SCC+ and YM2413 (OPLL, MSX-Music) sound chips emulated.
- Supports ROM cartridge (.rom), disk (.dsk) and tape (.cas) images in uncompressed, gzip compressed (.gz), zip compressed (.zip) and lharc compressed (.lzh) format (zip and lzh format support is in the "b" and "d" variants only). Compressed disk and tape images are treated as read-only media in the emulator (any saved data on compressed media will be lost when the emulator exits).
- Four supported display rendering modes with 90 degrees rotation possibility (cw/ccw):
- raw unzoomed (only a part of the MSX display is visible in 176x208 display)
- fast fit (every nth pixel is discarded in 176x208 display or doubled in bigger displays)
- smart fit (same as fast but with a lone-pixel-detection, only available in 176x208 display)
- resample fit (calculates the average of neighbouring pixels for each rendered pixel, only available in 176x208 display).
- Fully user configurable keyboard and joystick mappings.
- Emulation can be paused and the machine state can be saved and loaded.

PocketColeco 1.0 beta
PocketColeco emulates the ColecoVision console on your PocketPC. more>>
It needs to be said that it provides a good old Z80A at 3.58MHz, 8 kilobytes of RAM and a true OS (with the Atari you had to tackle hardware directly...) A video processor managing 16 kilobytes of RAM to complete the package.
To emulate all this on an actual Pocket PC doesnt pose any insurmountable technical problem, I recall that the resolution of the ColecoVision was 256x192 pixels. Its all done by this excellent program that I recommend to anyone with a nostalgia of this machine, as the ROMs are extremely easy to find.
Notes:
1. These zips contain .exe files compiled for PDAs. They must be manually copied to your device.
2. Roms must be located under "My Documents", or one of its subdirectories. If you are placing roms on a CF card, create a directory of this name first.
3. You must have a copy of the GAPI library file "gx.dll" in your PDAs /windows directory. There are various versions of this file, depending on the device. These files can be found at:
http://www.microsoft.com/pocketpc/downloads/gapi12.zip
4. In case you really mess things up, and cant remember what you did...delete the file "Pocketcoleco.set" from your PDAs root directory!
Main features:
- - Support for all known catridge sizes and formats
- - Full 4 voice sound implementation, with volume, sample rate, and buffer size controls.
- - Standard controller support, with keypad onscreen
- - Bitmap screen image save feature
- - Full speed emulation
- - Last settings saved automatically
- - Save/Load Gamestates
- - Autofire support for both A and B fire buttons, individually. Pressing the fire key while this feature is enabled will function as "stop firing"
- - Full control over processing time during Horizontal and Vertical Sync.
- - Skipframe support for speed control
- - Adam emulation support.
PalmJPG 2.01
Palm JPG lets you view JPG Image files stored on a Compact Flash Card withyour TRGpro. more>>
You can use it either to simply view your images made by a DigitalCamera, or just store and view Images without using the internalMemory of your Handheld device.
Another advantage is the high compression level of JPG files.
You can store more than 260 images in an acceptable quality with aresolution of 160x160 pixels on a small 4MB CF card!
If you are using Multimail together with the TRGpro plugin, you will like the feature to copy files into another directory or change the resolution and compression rate of a JPG.
Now you can send handy pictures from your vacation to your friends or update a web-page online with a cell phone.
In addition PalmJPG is able to read the extended header of JPGs coming from a digital camera. It shows data like aperture, exposure, EV compensation.
Most of the actual Digicams store also a thumbnail picture as a part of the header (160x120 pixels). PalmJPG is able to use this thumbnail for a quick preview.
Enhancements:
- Removed some nag screens.
System requirements:
- TRGPro
- Palm OS v3.5

- Options Max. Size for viewing and Max. Amount to the editor of replaced with Hi. Text Size and Max. Size of the text for the form of editing. Hi. Text Size specified in kilobytes, and the mean maximum size of file that can be downloaded in the browser and word processing. If the value is 0, then tries to open the text of any length. Hi. The size of the text for editing forms are in bytes (may not be less than 64) and refers to the maximum size of the block of text, which can be opened in the form of text when you press 4 (text from the screen) in a text editor.
- Button 5 in a text editor now opens the text as follows: if the current position (the beginning of the text on the screen) corresponds to the beginning of the text, it opens for editing the entire text, or only from the current position to end. If you receive a block size greater than Hi. The size of the text for the form of editing (in the settings), this value is ignored. There is no guarantee that the text will open, because a longer block may not be enough memory or not enough buffer size in the form of editing.
- Miscellaneous fixes.

- Java MIDP 2.0, CLDC 1.0
JBenchmark 1.0 1.0
JBenchmark measures the graphical performance of Java (J2ME) MIDP 1.0 enabled phones and PDAs, by running 5 small tests. more>>
JBenchmark is a small (28 KByte) Java program (midlet) which can be downloaded freely from the webpage. It contains 5 short (10 seconds each) graphical tests, each trying different aspects of the underlying graphical hardware. During the benchmarking phase the software counts how many frames were drawn on the screen - the final JBenchmark score simply the sum to these.
The first test measures the devices text drawing speed (using random colors). Of course text drawing is not very exciting, but surely the business and networking applications (mail, chat, browsing) use this feature the most.
The second test draws random 2 dimensional shapes on the screen. The J2ME version (MIDP 1.0) recently used in mobile phones is very limited, it is even not able to draw triangles. JBenchmark has its own functions to draw triangles and arbitrary quads (not just rectangles), which is almost essential in any graphical application.
Although small JAVA devices doesnt have the processing power to run Quake 3 in its true 3 dimensional form (and unfortunatelly MIDP 1.0 doesnt know floating point numbers and trigonometrical functions which are essential to do 3D transformations) the third test tries the impossible by drawing a dancing 3D cube in realtime.
The fourth test is rather boring one: without direct framebuffer drawing, the software tries to fill the screen with small random colored squares. Usually this is the slowest part of the test, which shows the lack of direct pixel addressing in the current standard (if it used single pixels and not squares, most of the devices werent able to draw 2 frames per 10 seconds).
The last test runs well on most of the machines: shows a simple animated Globe. The frames are cut from a PNG image, so the pixel size of the Globe is the same on every device.
After all the 5 test was accomplished JBenchmark shows the Score and also the details of each test-run (higher number means more drawn frames). The software shows other interesting properties too, like Java version, hardware platform, number of colors, memory, etc.
After the successful run JBenchmark users can also upload their results to www.jbenchmark.com. The uploaded results will be analysed by JBenchmark developers and put into the official, public result database (which already has a couple of interesting numbers).
