Its result can be used to select the size of small air conditioning units (window type and splitters) up to 5 tons (60,000 BTU / hr.). Typically, the small air conditioning units are scaled by estimates of the burden of cooling, taking into account the following factors:
- Dimensions of the enclosure.
- Heat gain by walls and ceiling.
- Heat gain from occupants, equipment, lights, etc..
The program is based on an internal temperature of 75F, terms of exterior design of 95F dry bulb, 75F wet bulb and 50% relative humidity. AirCondS is free (can be distributed) but not in the public domain.
