Zaurus IR Remote Controller is an application which can be used to control many popular RTV devices: TVs, video recorders, satellite decoders etc by the IrDA port installed in the Zaurus.
It can learn and send signals moduleted on 32-40 kHz wave (+/- few kHz) - same as many popular remotes use.
Zaurus IR Remote Controller may not work with some devices and author can not take responsibility of that. Besides Zaurus has very low power IrDA port so range is short (depend on device, battery status, lighting of the room - from 1 to 5 ft (30 - 150 cm).

This simple yet powerful utility allows tax practitioners to take Tax Forms on the road with them and print them with any Infrared (IrDA) compliant printer. Forms available from the IRS (http://www.irs.gov/) in Hewlett Packard Printer Control Language (PCL) or Adobe Post Script (PS) formats can be downloaded and saved to your PocketPC device or memory card and subsequently printed with IRPrintTax.

This software is currently provided as Freeware given its simplicity of function. Given the slow nature of IrDA communications, medium and large sized files may take several minutes to print. What you loose in speed you gain in portability.

What is IrSquirt?
IrSquirt is an application that allows existing PalmOS based applications to Beam files via infrared to and from PocketPC based PDAs, including pre-PocketPC 2002 devices. No modification to the existing PalmOS applications is required.
Background
PalmOS based devices use an industry standard called "IrOBEX" (IrDA Object Exchange) for infrared file transfers. This is the same protocol used in a number of personal organizers and infrared equipped cellular telephones. Palm and most PalmOS based applications refer to the use of this protocol as Beaming. Presumably Beaming is intended to conjure up images of svelte pre-Priceline.com William Shatner transferring important information to his pointy eared sidekick.
Although Microsoft was directly involved with the development of the IrOBEX specification, Windows CE devices prior to PocketPC 2002 did not offer it. Instead, for reasons known only to Microsoft, CE devices and Microsoft applications used a closed, proprietary protocol called IrSquirt. Presumably IrSquirt is intended to conjure up images of a much older Captain Kirk sitting on the, uh, command chair struggling with a photon torpedo.
That disturbing thought notwithstanding, the fact remained that Microsoft PDAs prior to PocketPC 2002 cannot communicate with Palm PDAs via infrared. The devices use different, and very incompatible, communication protocols.
Enter IrSquirt 1.1. This application allows the user to switch PalmOS beaming from IrOBEX to Microsofts IrSquirt protocol for sending and receiving. Applications act as before, they are simply communicating using a different protocol.
