Heat (temperature converter) 1.0 offers you an ability to convert temperatures with only a few touches!
Heat converts between Fahrenheit and Celsius with a simple, intuitive interface that can be easily used by anyone who's spent fifteen minutes with an iPhone or iPod touch. Its big, readable displays are clearly visible at arm's length and in direct sunlight. Heat also supports Kelvin and Rankine, two temperature units used in science and engineering.
It includes a built-in four-function calculator, perfect for, say, subtracting 5F from 30C. Heat is a free app based on Converter, the most popular paid unit converter in America and a top 100 paid app in nearly twenty countries. If you're thinking about getting Converter but aren't sure yet, Heat is the perfect way to take it for a test drive--or if you only need to convert temperatures, Heat gives you something you'd otherwise have to buy for free.

WeatherCalc 3.2
Calculate Wind Chill and Heat Index. more>>
Wind chill tells you how cold if feels when heat loss effects of wind are subtracted from temperatures below 35 F, 2 C.
Heat index tells you how hot it feels when effects of humidity are added to temperatures above 90 F, 32 C.
This program was written in CASL by the folks at CASLsoft as a means to show you how easy it is to turn your ideas into PDA applications.
This version requires no runtime, and comes complete with an easy installation program. Complete source code is provided, but not required. Please enjoy with our compliments!
Check out other freeware applications from CASLsoft, and other applications from CASL developers at CASLsofts freeware page.
CASLsoft provides a Windows based development tool to enable developers familiar with Visual Basic or Java Script to easily develop professional PDA applications.
CASL has many features competing tools do not have, and yet is priced to be easy on the wallet. CASL was first released in 1996, making CASLsoft one of the earliest supporters of the Palm OS.
DensCalc 1.1
DensCalc is a sea water equation of state calculator for the Palm OS. more>>
It will compute any two of the following four parameters: temperature, conductivity, salinity, and density, from the other two parameters and it will do this for any depth in the ocean.
The program also computes the speed of sound, specific heat, freezing point, adiabatic lapse rate, sigma-t, potential temperature, and potential density.
The full source code is available on the authors web site.

wthrcalc 0.7
wthrcalc has four different weather related calculations. more>>
Wind chill - relative humidity - F to C, C to F - and heat index.
The Wind chill has both the old formula (named aeronautical since it was told to me that it was more for wing icing and such on air planes so it is based on 9 meters up), and the new formula (named civil for feet planted on ground).
There is supposed to be a new revision yet, which might become civil 2.
The heat index takes its values from the Drybulb and Relative Humidity fields, insert input there.
If values are entered outside of normal ranges the results are unpredictable (no crashes, just unrealistic results) - wind speed below 4 mph is locked to 4 (anything less has no apparent effect).
wthrcalc was created to fulfill a need for anything weather for my son, Kenneth M, and to have a small footprint on my already overstuffed IIIe special edition.

AirCondS (Spanish) 2.0 is a simple to use, yet sophisticated application designed to quickly determine the cooling load of a room, room, office, hall, etc.. Its result can be used to select the size of small air conditioning units (window type and splitters) up to 5 tons (60,000 BTU / hr.). Typically, the small air conditioning units are scaled by estimates of the burden of cooling, taking into account the following factors:
- Dimensions of the enclosure.
- Heat gain by walls and ceiling.
- Heat gain from occupants, equipment, lights, etc..
The program is based on an internal temperature of 75F, terms of exterior design of 95F dry bulb, 75F wet bulb and 50% relative humidity. AirCondS is free (can be distributed) but not in the public domain.
