Battery Meter 1.2 is a free program that replaces the battery symbol in the PalmOS launcher application with a customizable symbol and an additional value. This value can be configured to display the absolute battery voltage or the battery level in percent.

Furthermore the whole battery handling of the Palm can be switched between alkaline, NiCd, rechargeable alkaline (only on OS 3.3), NiMH and Lithium batteries. This is extremely useful with a Palm running on rechargeables.

MenuHack 1.2 lends you help to correct a small user interface deficiency in the PalmPilot. Ordinarily, clicking in the title bar of an application does nothing, which is very counter-intuitive for anyone used to the drop-down menus of Macs and PCs.

Thus MenuHack fixes things so that clicking in the title bar of an application (if the app has a title bar, of course) will drop down the menu bar, thus saving yourself on the order of half a second that you would ordinarily have taken to move the stylus down to the silk-screened area.
