iBaby lets you monitor the sound level in a room and to make a call to a preset phone number when the program hears noise above that level. You pick up the phone, listen and then hang up. At the end of the call, iBaby recommences listening.

It can be used, for example, in a room where Baby is sleeping, while you work on your tan in the backyard or chat with your neighbours.

The user (or users) must set the number to call, the noise leve, the percent rise in noise level that will prompt a call to the number, and the number of analyses that will be used to calibrate the ambiant noise level.

At startup, iBaby calibrates the ambient noise level, then enters recording mode (checking the noise level every 5 seconds). The default settings are quite sensitive and I had to fiddle for a while to find a level that didnt trigger a call every time a car drove by on the street.
The battery is drained fairly quickly and iBaby calls you when it drops below 15%.

Dont forget to deactivate the ringer and vibration on the PDAPhone, because if someone calls, Baby will be woken up!
