Autocorrect 0.82
Autocorrect gives users a helping hand to modify the Treos automatic string replacement behavior (not condoned by PalmOne). more>>
Autocorrect 0.82 gives users a helping hand to modify the Treo's automatic string replacement behavior (not condoned by PalmOne). By default, Treos will attempt to "autocorrect" various strings in most all text fields. For example, while typing a memo, if you enter "beleive ", it will replace it with "believe ". This a great feature if you are using English, but not very useful for other languages. In fact, it can be detrimental if a legitimate word in your language is forcibly replaced by something else. A common example is lower case "i" replaced by upper case "I".

Palm Tungsten T Update
The PalmTungstenTUpdate.prc is a software patch for the Palm Tungsten T handheld. It resolves the following issues: Digitizer issues affecting the top 5mm of the Tungsten T display not responding more>>
Palm Tungsten T Update has come as a handy and essential software patch which is particularly useful for the Palm Tungsten T handheld. It resolves several issues. This patch is intended for the Palm Tungsten T and is not meant for use with any other handhelds. This patch incorporates and replaces the following previously released patches for Palm Tungsten T: PalmDigitizerUpdate.prc and PalmAudioUpdate.prc.
Major Features:
- Digitizer issues affecting the top 5mm of the Tungsten T display not responding correctly or at all. This is typically detected when using pull down menus or applications that utilize this part of the display.
- Audio playback issues, associated with playing audio files (such as MP3 or WAV), which affect sound output quality. Enhancements to the Palm Sound Manager included with this update also enable the playback of audio files in the background with some applications.
- Issues connecting to the Internet or email via a Bluetooth dongle attached to a PC.
- Launcher issues when attempting to access the App menu. The error message "LauncherMain.c, Line:9128, could not complete the operation because the system is out of dynamic memory" is reported on devices with more than 345 files in system memory.
NameSwap 1.03

Enhancements:
- Version 1.03 fixes a bug which could cause you to run out of memory when attempting to swap a very large number of contacts, and another one which caused a crash when trying to swap certain contacts.
AstroView 1.76
AstroViewPalm is the program you use to view a shared computer from a Palm Powered device. more>>
AstroViewPalm also allows you to save whatever is currently in the viewer as a picture whether you are connected to a remote desktop or not. This ability is found under the "Image" menu. You can view a desktop or a saved image in 3 levels of Zoom: Normal (1X), Zoom Double (2X) and Zoom Quadruple (4X). This ability is found under the "Zoom" menu. You can also push the up and down page buttons on the front of your device to zoom in and out respectively. Viewing in Double and Quadruple modes decreases bandwith significantly.
Most likely you will be viewing a remote desktop that is larger than the display on your Palm OS device. Currently AstroViewPalm has 3 ways to view different parts of that larger desktop. You do this by "scrolling".
We offer 3 scroll modes: Grab, Scale and Mouse.
Grab Scroll works by moving to another part of the remote desktop in response to you pushing the stylus. While you move the stylus the same point on the desktop stays under it. Its sort of like putting your index finger on a piece of paper thats on a smooth desk. As you move your finger around the paper moves too but not relative to your finger.
Scale Scroll works by showing you that part of the desktop relative to where your stylus is on the palm screen. So if you tap the top left corner of the palm screen you will see the top left corner of the remote desktop. Tap the middle of the screen and you see the middle of the remote desktop. Hold the stylus down while moving it and you will see everything in between.
Mouse Scroll works by imitating the mouse on the remote desktop. When you touch the stylus to the palm screen it causes the mouse button to be down on the remote desktop. As you move the stylus in mouse scroll mode so does the mouse move on the remote desktop. If you move the stylus within about 1/4 inch of your Palms screen border then the part of the remote desktop your viewing will shift so that you can see more of the desktop in the direction that you are moving the stylus.
You can switch between the different scroll modes via the "Stylus" menu. You can also switch into Mouse Scroll by hitting the leftmost hard button on the front of your palm also known as the DateBook button. Hitting it again will switch you back into the previous scroll mode either Grab or Scale. All 3 scroll modes work in real time as does zooming so you can zoom in and out at the same time you are using any of the scroll modes.
You can copy whatever text is currently selected on the shared machine to your handhelds clipboard. Do this by choosing "Copy From Remote..." under the "View" menu. You can also paste whatever text is currently on your handhelds clipboard to the text insertion point of the shared computer. Do this by choosing "Paste To Remote..." under the "View" menu. For both copying and pasting a maximum of 5000 characters are moved with one operation.
Enhancements:
- Added chat rooms to AstroShare and AstroView. This is found under the "Login" menu as "Show Chat Rooms...". You can create a new chat room and enter one from this dialog. The rooms are listed along with the number of users in each room. You can only enter one chat room at a time. When entering a chat room you leave the previous one. Currently chat rooms do not work with AstroView for Palm OS.
- In AstroShare we fixed a timing issue when using the Request/Invite feature from the FriendsList. Previously you would often have to request or invite twice because the first attempt would give AstroShare enough time to set itself up with AstroCity and the second attempt would have the connection go through. This has been fixed now.
- For AstroView for Palm OS we now properly show whos FriendsList you are viewing when choosing to show it via the Login Menu. This is displayed in the dialogs title.

RoadMap 1.0.12
RoadMap is an open source (GPL) program that provides a car navigation for Linux, UNIX and now Windows CE (a.k.a. PocketPC). It displays a map of the streets, tracks the position provided by a NMEA-co more>>
It is possible to display a specific area by providing a (complete or incomplete) postal address, the intersection of two streets or an exact position (longitude / latitude).
The map files used by RoadMap are generated from the TIGER files provided by the US Census Bureau, and thus cover the USA only. The RoadMap map format is a binary format that is sensitive to the endianness of the processor. Maps available on this site cover all the USA and have been generated for a little endian processor (such as the Intel Pentium and StrongARM processors).
RoadMap has been designed to be usable on both a desktop or laptop PC, or on a PDA such as the iPAQ from HP (formely from COMPAQ). It can use either the Gtk 1.2 , Gtk 2.0 or QT graphic library for its user interface. The Qt interface supports the Sharps Zaurus PDA. All these machines share the same endianness and can use the maps provided on this site.
RoadMap is at an early stage of development. At this time there are no routing features implemented yet. The plan for the future is to implement some navigation features similar to those found in commercial street navigation systems. The main limit for implementing routing is the lack of navigation information in the US Census Bureau database (for example one-way street are not indicated). The US Census Bureau has clearly indicated that it does not plan to add these information in the future (the USCB does not need them).
RoadMap uses gpsd for the GPS link and flite (festival lite) for the voice messages. Note that flite can be rebuilt with better voices than the default one (such as a US voice instead of a british one--some may disagree :). See the flite README for more information. Here is an example, courtesy of Scot Wilcoxon:
cd flite
make clean # to remove old executable files
./configure --with-vox=cmu_us_kal16
RoadMap comes with its own GPS status screen, which provides an overview of the satellites received and highlights those the GPS has a fix on. This status screen allows for placing the GPS device in a position that optimizes satellite reception, even if that means making the GPS devices screen not accessible.
RoadMap uses a binary file format for representing the maps that is compact enough to allow the storage of many maps on a Compact Flash or MultiMedia card. For example, the map of Los Angeles county takes about 10 Mbytes of flash space. RoadMap comes with a set of tools to convert the US Census bureau data (both the 2000 and 2002 versions) into its own map format. Future versions of the US Census bureau data will be supported as well (usually a 1 or 2 months after the data has been released).
When RoadMap starts, it displays a map of the same area that was displayed on the latest session. Clicking on the map screen triggers a "sign" that displays the name of the street, road or freeway (if any) that is the closest to the mouse hotpoint.
Enhancements:
- Makefile cleanup: everything must now be built in src. If only one toolkit support is to be built, use the DESKTOP option. Please read the README file for more information.
- Small addition to the README file, section "troubleshooting".
- RoadMap uses a minimum refresh period to avoid recomputing the screen too often. This period is now a preference. Not that you normally would want to change this, but this helps on some very specific setups.
- The --debug option now accepts a list of source files as parameters.
- Reworked the roadmap_trip.c API, to have a common API between the current trip module and the upcoming one from Paul.
- Make RoadMap resynchronize with the graphic engine (X11) before drawing a new map. Dont redraw if the graphic engine is busy. This is intended as an attempt to avoid overloading the X server on a PDA (Paul Fox).
- Support defining a sprite as an alias of another sprite (Paul Fox).
- Show the preference categories sorted in alphabetical order, to makes it easier to retrieve a category tab.
- Expand all paths, including the hard-coded ones (Ehud Shabtai).
- Fix the handling of the end-of-file when the GPS source is a NMEA log file.
- User preference to decide what side to draw the toolbar on: top (default), right, bottom or left. (Not yet available on Windows CE.)
- A fix for the shape gap filler code in buildmap. buildmap generated wrong shapes for long lines (Ehud Shabtai).
- The menus are now user configurable, in a way similar to the toolbar. The actions can be renamed, to match the size of the screen better (Paul Fox and I).
- The minimal mouse/pen movement required to initiate a map drag is now configurable: some screen digitizers have a significant jitter, but a large value is incomfortable on a desktop machine (Paul Fox).

Yame 0.38g
Yame emulates on the Pocket PC the Gameboy, Gameboy Color, PC Engine, NES and even SNES. more>>
Lets start with what it doesnt do: SNES emulation is not complete, dont attempt to play Mario Kart on your Pocket PC with this emulator.
Yame is a bit old and retains the menu bar at the top of the screen, as with Windows CE 2.11. This doesnt stop it from being one of the best emulators, notably with the older machines. It is, for example, the best NES emulator for the MIPS platform.
At the first startup, the program is in Japanese, but you only have to click on the S of Settings from Menu to get to Language which gives access to English, phew!
The options are extremely complete, as well as with audio and video, and the button can be redefined. Nothing is missing, it is perfect.
Although little known, without a doubt due to its Japanese origin and the absence of a supporting website, Yame is an excellent emulator. It is far from being equal to the (commercial) MorphGear, but according to the ROM that you have, it will prove to be handy.
Portable Undelete Plus 2.98
A quick and effective way to restore accidentally deleted files more>> Portable Undelete Plus 2.98 gives a solution for recovering accidentally deleted files. It can also restore files emptied from the Recycle Bin, permanently deleted files within Windows using the Shift + Delete, and files that have been deleted from within a Command Prompt.
Undelete Plus allows the following tasks to be performed:
- Recovery of deleted files from NTFS/NTFS5, FAT12/FAT16/FAT32 volumes.
- Restoring deleted files on Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT, Windows 2003, Windows Vista.
Important Information: As soon as you discover that vital files have been erased, the most important thing is to prevent erased files from being rewritten. To do so, avoid any use of the disk where the file was erased until after the files are recovered. Also remember that Undelete Plus shouldn't be installed to this disk - install it to floppy if no other disk is available.
The following three things are important for restoration considerations:
- The less time since the disk has been de-fragmented
- The sooner you make a restoration attempt
- The smaller the size of the file - the more chances for success
When Undelete Plus saves a restored file it reads its content and writes it to a new file with the same name. It is recommended that you save files on another disk because of the risk of overwriting other erased files with the new saved one.
If you still choose to save files on the same disk from where they were restored, all files will be read from disk to memory and only after that will be written to disk. Then to check the condition of other erased files on disk, it will be re-scanned.
This program is adware because: Displays ad banners or other types of advertising material during its runtime.

EjectUSB 1.5
Closes programs running from a specified drive or folder more>>
Note: Some antivirus and antispyware programs flag EjectUSB as being infected/malware, although the application is perfectly safe and does not pose a threat to your system. This is called a false positive. The term false positive is used when antivirus software wrongly classifies an innocuous ( inoffensive ) file as a virus. The incorrect detection may be due to heuristics or to an incorrect virus signature in a database. Similar problems can occur with antitrojan or antispyware software.
Enhancements:
- Bug fix: EjectUSBs ejection success message will more reliably appear on Vista.
- Bug fix: EjectUSBs ejection success message will only disappear when the ejected drive
is unplugged instead of disappearing when any USB device is unplugged. - Bug fix: EjectUSB will no longer display an error if WMI functions fail.
- Improvement: EjectUSBs ejection success message now displays the ejected drives name.
- Addition: Added /ini command line argument to allow a settings file to be specified.
- Addition: Added /settings command line argument to display a settings interface window.
- Addition: Included Settings.bat with the download to make adjusting settings easier.

- Pannable Color higher-resolution System Route Map (requires PalmOS 3.5 or greater)
- A Menu Item for switching to the BART Quick Planner (if it is installed).
- Support for 5-way navigator button (found on certain PalmOne models).
Alarm Information
Starting with Version 3.4, Caltrain+ has the ability to trigger alarms a specified number of minutes before a train departs or arrives. This is a complex feature that bears further explanation (though the goal is to make usage as intuitive as possible). Here are the details:
- Alarms are recurring (e.g. for commuters who ride the train on a regular basis). For non-recurring alarms there is already the Datebook, and this should be used.
- To set an alarm, start by tapping a time in either the departure or arrival column of a particular train. This brings up the detail popup window, which contains the alarm set/clear button. The button label toggles depending on whether the alarm is set or cleared.
- Next select the number of minutes before the train arrives/departs that you wish to be notified, using the popup to the right of the alarm set/clear button. Currently 5-60 minutes in increments of 5 minutes is supported. The default number of minutes may be specified in the preferences panel.
- Once an alarm is set, the popup is locked and displays the number of minutes selected as the advance notification interval. Clearing the alarm will unlock the popup.
- An alarm will be triggered the specified number of minutes before every train matching the schedule class. I.e., if an alarm is set for a M-F train, it will be triggered every weekday until cleared.
- There is logic for detecting holidays, and an alarm that would otherwise trigger will be skipped on a holiday (e.g. a M-F alarm will not trigger on Labor Day). The holidays recognized are limited to Xmas, Presidentss Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving.
- A train for which an alarm is set is highlighted in red/bold in the display.
- A maximum of 4 alarms may be set concurrently.
- The Alarms Form can be used to 1) see which alarms are set; 2) cancel individual alarms; 3) cancel all alarms.
- This feature works best with the Attention Manager (PalmOS 4.0 or greater). Earlier versions of Palm will work but the notification menu is crude and there is no snoozing or nagging.
- You can only set alarms for a holiday on the day of the holiday, and those alarms will be one-shots (non-repeating). Otherwise there are no restrictions (e.g. you can set a M-F alarm on a Saturday.
Troubleshooting & Known Problems
- "Blank display" (Grid shown but no text): this has been reported on the Treo 600 and 650 models. The cause has not been isolated: it seems to affect only a small number of units, and seems related to firmware (upgrading to a new firmware version has been known to both cause and solve this problem. No known workaround
- Resets after installing Caltrain Application. This is occasionally seen on all models, though again the Treos seem the most susceptible. Here are several things to try (ordered in increasing order of severity) that have been known to work on occasion:
1. explicitly delete Caltrain app from your handheld, and try to re-install
2. extract .prc file from the .zip archive instead of downloading directly (some browsers known to have a hard time handling .prc binaries)
3. Clean out your Hotsync directories. This from a user: "I found the last two versions of the Caltrain application that I was trying to update inside the "Install" folder which was inside my User Folder. For some reason, that application remained in that folder even after I deleted it from the handheld and from the Quick Install application. After I deleted the .prc files from the "Install" folder and rebooted the machine, everything worked normally. I used the Quick Install application and successfully installed the new program that I originally wanted to install"
4. Search your system and delete all instances of the Caltrain .prc files. Then delete Caltrain app from your handheld. Finally download a fresh .zip, extract the .prc, and try to install that.
5. Try using the free dbScan utility on your handheld.
6. Try (soft) resetting your handheld before attempting steps 1-5.
Enhancements:
- Updated to reflect the April 2, 2007 schedule and fares.
- New Features:
- "T" mode for displaying Redwood City Transfers. You select this by toggling the "T", "L", "A" popup thats immediately below the "Caltrain Schedule" header in the upper left hand corner of the main display. In "T" mode, routes requiring a RWC transfer will be displayed in bold green in the Train column. Tapping on Train or Origin columns will give the number of the train you are to transfer to; tapping on the Destination column will give information for the transfer train, including departure time.
- Trains form for displaying all the stops for a train rather than the converse. You can enter this form by either 1) tapping the Trains View button shown in the Schedule Detail form; or 2) selecting Trains in the Commands menu. If you navigate via the Trains View button the schedule for the corresponding will be shown. While in the Trains View, the 5-way navigator will behave the same way as in the main view.
- New abbreviated Help form.
- Bugfixes:
- Corrected a problem where alarms would cause the wrong train (or no train at all) to be bolded.
