Frotz lets you play hundreds of free works of Interactive Fiction (a.k.a. text adventure games) on your iPhone or iPod Touch. Frotz plays games written in the Z-Machine format. This format was invented by Infocom and was used to produce great text adventures from the 80s such as the Zork Trilogy, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and Trinity.

In the past decade, text adventures have experienced a renaissance thanks to a great Internet community of interactive fiction writers and fans. Many of these games are written using the same engine that powered Infocom's titles, thanks to the Inform compiler and authoring system created by Graham Nelson.

GridHIKER is a GPS software for handheld units. A step further than raw numeric coordinates.

Searchlight is based on the 1982 LCD game Search Light. Your goal is to escape from prison, evading guards and the roving searchlight. This is a very simple game, like most early 80s games, where the basic objective is to build up your score.

In the 80s, a company called Infocom released many high quality text adventure games. They wrote these games using an imagined z-machine computer, and then wrote interpreters for this z-machine for all the popular computers of the day.
ZipCE is an interpreter that lets you run games written in the Infocom format: the famous z-machine.
There isnt much to say about this port: we are in the presence of a very successful version.
You will need of course to find the games yourself, searching is aided by links supplied with the program.
