LinkStart is an application manager. It allows you to move applications to expansion cards and run them transparently as if they were on the device. It may take a little longer for application to start from the card, depending on the size of application and its data, but you save precious RAM space!
Yes, modern PalmOS versions can do it too, but they come with a lot of limitations, for example, there is no way to categorize card applications in PalmOS launcher. There are other disadvantages and limitations as well. Linkstart takes a different approach. It creates a small link application that looks exactly like the original one in the launcher and can be treated as the original application. When this link is launched it loads the original application from card, launches it, waits till it quits, and saves application data back to card. The download consists of LinkStart Lite, which is a freeware application.
