Why version 5? Because its designed for Palm OS 5. AeroPlayer 6 will be designed for Palm OS 6 (aka Cobalt).
AeroPlayer 5 is a ground-up rewrite of the entire AeroPlayer product. If youve used previous versions of AeroPlayer, version 5 will feel familiar, but under the hood, everything is new! In particular, performance is drastically improved. If you use AeroPlayer in the background, youll notice that in most situations, it will have virtually no performance impact on the other program youre running and skips during playback will be virtually eliminated.
The new playback system sets the stage for new transports, including internet streams(coming soon).
Enhancements:
- With the release of version 5.5, AeroPlayer will now display album art embedded in your music files! Simply view the Track info screen. If the current track has an image, itll be displayed at the top of the screen. You can tap on the thumbnail for a full screen view.
- There are also new versions of both the MP3 and AAC plug-ins. Youll need to have these installed to view album art correctly. Several bugs involving memory leaks have also been fixed, the result of which being that AeroPlayer should run better than ever on your Palm Powered device!
