VINS 2.11

VINS is a software about wine (vins is the french word for wines). It allows you to manage perfectly your wine cellar, but it especially provide you with a complete encyclopaedic base on more than 1400 appellations and tastings advices (food & wines, service...).

VINS is now used all around the world ,by more than one thousand of users, amateurs or wine professionals.

The main advantage of VINS are its databases . Here is a quick description of those databases :


Appellations :

Its the heart of VINS. Data file with ALL French (AOC and AOVDQS ), Swiss, Portugeses, Italians, Algerians and Austrians appellations. For each, appellation name, region (Alsace, Bordelais...), vinification (Red, White, ...), type (Dry, ...), variety / grappe (cabernet, merlot, ...), apogee (min/max), maps for localisation. Its more than 1400 wines (growing ...). User is able to add appelations of his choice or modify any appellation.
This base is searchable directly (when at restaurant for example) or is used when adding new wines in your wine-cellar.


Grappes :

This base give the name of nearly 1000 grappes, from all around the world !!


Cellar :

To manage your prefered bottles (ability to manage several cellars), with wine name, year, quantity, bottle size, location in cave, 2 user-defined fields, appellation and every related data picked in the appellations data file. You can search this file, update or delete records.

In the Palm version, the tasting functionnalities have been strongly improved: for details see Tasting notes database.
Of course, for each wine VINS is able to give you some advices : apogee function of millesimes, service temperature, foods ...

In addition, some analysis are available :
Statistics : nb wines / bottles by countries / region / type , finance.

Best years : position of your wines on a maturation-apogee-decline graph

Ageing : Visualization of the ageing of the cellar present on a graph for the 20 next years.


Tasting notes :

It is possible to enter several tasting cards each wine, organized in eye/nose/mouth/balance and synthesis, with lists of tasting terms integrable to your comments.


Years quality :

Data file with a cotation for each year since 1950 (when available ...) by country / region / type. A lot of countries are covered by this database : France, Swiss, Italia, USA, Germany, Spain, Chile, ...


Food / wine :

Data file with links between foods and appelation. To help you in a hard job : the choice of the right wine for the lunch !


Service information :

Differents data files, with some advices around wines : service temperature for example.


Tasting terms :

Very large database of tasting terms (aromas, ...). They are easily integrable to your comments.
