Wind Meter 0.2

Wind Meter 0.2 is a useful program which allows you to know the approximate wind speed between 0 and 28 mph wherever you go.

To use, press the start button. Wait a few seconds. Press stop. The final reading is the average of the period between stop and start, giving you an approximate average wind reading. Point the microphone at the bottom of the iPhone directly into the wind. Easily convert between mph, kmh, knots, and Beaufort. This application uses sound conversion to gauge wind velocity. As the wind speed increases, the application converts the louder noise on the microphone into a wind velocity reading.

It works by measuring the volume of the wind on your iPhone microphone and converts it into a wind speed reading. Wind Meter supports multiple units of measure including Miles Per Hour, Knots, Kilometers Per Hour, Beaufort, and soon Feet Per Second, and Meters Per Second.
Use Wind Meter to determine the wind velocity for a variety of recreational uses such as (but not limited to): windsurfing, kitesurfing, sailing, rc flying, hang gliding, golfing, hunting, fishing, rowing biking, tennis, and many more.
